   Lichfield
Cathedral is the 'mother-church' of the Diocese of Lichfield (Anglican).
The Cathedral has a varied and wide role, serving a large geographical
area, but, as any other church, plays its part in the local community.

about
At Lichfield Cathedral, we aim to follow the example of
our patrons, St Mary and St Chad, and to reveal God's power and love through
humility, courage, trust and determination.
We try to do do this through:
worship and prayer
| |
founding our lives on worship and
prayer
|
| |
caring for and using our historic
building, so that it may be a place of pilgrimage, celebration,
peace and wonder
|
teaching and nurture
| |
providing a focus for the work
of the Bishop of Lichfield and the Church in the Diocese
|
| |
living out and presenting the Gospel
of Jesus Christ with our congregation and through our lives in the
world
|
| |
developing music and the arts for
the enrichment of worship and human life and experience
|
| |
being a centre for the development
of the Christian mind through study, teaching and the provision
of learning opportunities for all ages, especially for those who
find difficulty in relating the Christian faith to their life experience
|
| |
encouraging young people to
visit the Cathedral and helping them to be open to its purpose and
history
|
evangelism and outreach
| |
welcoming all who visit the Cathedral
and making them feel valued and nourished by their visit
|
| |
preaching the good news of Jesus
Christ
|
| |
praying for and developing enduring
relationships with the city, district, counties and other organisations
within the diocese
|
| |
working wherever possible with
other churches and communities in this country and overseas
|
| |
serving our congregation and all
those who turn to us for help, showing the God's love for all people
|
| |
engaging with the issues of our
age and putting forward a Christian point of view
|
| |
helping people find renewal
and wholeness through exploration of their spiritual resources and
needs, and review of their personal values
|
justice and care
| |
showing God's love to our congregation
and to all those who turn to us for help
